Week 7 writing task

Hi I'm Harry and today I will be telling you about my week 7 school writing task.At school we had to pick a worthy or admirable New Zealander I chose Richie Mccaw And I have some reasons on what he does and the good things he has done and some information on my Report on Richie Mccaw

Treaty of waitangi

This term at school ( Term 1) we had to write on a google slide shared to me and the other yr 7/8 about The treaty of waitangi if you do not know what the treaty it is what made New Zealand what it is like today. This treaty was signed by 40 Maori chiefs and by signing it they gave full sovereignty to England over New Zealand.


Now we are going to talk about what we did.

First we had to go onto the slide and answer these questions:
Why did people from other places want to settle in New Zealand in the 1830’s? Who were the different groups living in NZ before signing the treaty? What were the issues for Maori and for Pākehā that led to a treaty being entered into?

These were the answers I wrote:

For question one I think Britain was searching for land in order to obtain more power and influence over other countries.

For the second one I wrote that Maori,British,Germans,French,and Whalers.

And for the final one I wrote that if people from different countries came to NZ there were no rules so 13 Maori chiefs wrote to England for protection

When we had finished we had to look at some info about before the treaty was signed.

Then when we had finished that we had to answer some more questions, this time there were more than last time for example,What are the principles of the treaty? (There are three and they all start with P!) I wrote for that,partnership,protection,participation.Then when we had finished that question we had to read some more info on the Treaty of waitangi and then we had finished.I hope you enjoyed this blog bye!!!

Today at school we had to do some creativity activities that the teachers gave us.



Team creativity reflection
first we got into groups then when we finished we as a group had to write 100 ways to use a paperclip( my teacher let us do 50 ) so then we started everybody had some great ideas like pipe cleaner or you could use it for sewing or a tooth pick end we did half of it then we had to go swimming.When we got we finished pretty quickly. for this one I thought I let some of my group put some of there ideas before me so I could see what their ones first then I would write some of my Ideas 




Individual creativity reflection
for are Individual activity we had to draw something in 4 circles and 4 squares for my circles I drew earth,tennis ball,Football,and a smiley face and for my squares I drew a dice,rubix cube,Tic tac toe,sticky note that was was easier. this I think was easier cause I knew what I was going to draw on the shape

Hi its Harry as you know today we had to write a blog about how well we think we collaborated so I better get start talking about it.So this term the teachers had given us groups for our school fair the group would have 4 people but only a few groups got 5 people I got 4 people first we had to get into are groups and decide what are game was going to be it was going to be out of bottle knock or mini bowling.We did a vote and bottle knock got the most and we probably would have chosen that one any way because another group got mini bowling then we had to come up with are group rules we had to have at least 10 rules or more then we had to make a poster on what the game would look like and we also had to do the measurements me and one the people did the poster and the other 2 did the 
measurements then we got to start building at the the moment our group haven't finished building it yet.Now I'm going to tell how we collaborated when we had to the rules for are group everybody wrote at least 2 rules and we finished pretty quickly me and the other person in  made a poster of what it might look like and the other 2  did the measurements since we worked on different things it went faster and we have worked out how to build our knock the bottle so that up to date hope you enjoyed : ) .
